KHULNA, May 18, 2026 (BSS)- Khulna University has been recognized as an official test site for the Japanese Language NAT-Test, becoming the first institution outside Dhaka to host the internationally recognized examination in Bangladesh.

The full form of the Japanese NAT test is the Nihongo Achievement Test. It is a standardized examination that measures and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of non-native speakers.

University authorities said the initiative marked a significant step towards the internationalization of higher education, development of globally skilled human resources and expansion of overseas employment opportunities, particularly in Japan.

The NAT-Test is an internationally recognized examination designed to assess Japanese language proficiency and is widely used for higher education, scholarships, technical training, skill development and employment opportunities in Japan.

Officials concerned said growing demand for skilled manpower in Japan has encouraged a large number of Bangladeshi students, trainees and job seekers to pursue higher education and employment opportunities there.

Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University Professor Dr Rezaul Karim said the university has been consistently working to strengthen international collaboration and global engagement alongside maintaining excellence in education and research.

“Recognition as an official NAT Test site is a matter of great pride for us. Becoming the first NAT Test centre outside Dhaka is an important milestone for higher education, skill development and international employment opportunities in Bangladesh,” he said.

He added that the initiative would create new opportunities for young people interested in higher education and employment in Japan and would contribute to the government’s plan for developing skilled human resources.

The university authorities said registration for the next NAT examination has already begun. Detailed information regarding registration, schedules and other matters is available at KU NAT Test Platform.
