The statement said journalists play an important role in society and the state through objective and factual reporting, adding that any obstacle to journalists’ work environment in universities is a matter of concern.

JU unit JCD Convener Jahir Uddin Mohammad Babor and Member Secretary Wasim Ahmed Anik expressed deep concern, condemnation and protest over the incident and called upon students, journalists and all concerned to maintain responsible behaviour and mutual respect for ensuring a peaceful and conducive academic environment.
