Rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, May 25, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours from 9 am.
 
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes are likely at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, said a Met Office bulletin this morning.

It may also occur at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions. Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is likely at some places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, the bulletin added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj and Patuakhali and it may continue.

The highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi, while the minimum temperature today was recorded 19.8 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.

The sun sets at 6:39 pm today and rises at 5:12 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
