NARSINGDI, June 19, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, MP, today said the fallen fascist government remained unaccountable to the people due to undemocratic electoral practices.

"They held elections without votes, cast daytime votes at night, and stayed in power unopposed through force. As a result, they had no accountability or responsibility to the people," he said.

Khokon made the remarks while addressing a cash assistance distribution programme at the Narsingdi district BNP office on Friday afternoon.

The financial aid was distributed among beneficiaries from the discretionary fund of the Member of Parliament.

Highlighting the government's efforts, Khokon said it is gradually fulfilling the commitments made to the people before the election.

"The government is working to reduce public suffering, ensure welfare and security and create an environment where people can live peacefully," he added.

Among others present at the event were Narsingdi City BNP President AKM Golam Kabir Kamal, General Secretary Faruk Uddin Bhuiyan, Iqbal Hossain, Aminul Haque Bacchu and local BNP leaders and activists.

Later, cash assistance was distributed among 31 beneficiaries from different parts of Narsingdi district.
