Rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, May 27, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast rain in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours beginning from 9am.
 
According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.
 
Day temperature may fall by (1-2) °C and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.
 
The country's highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius at Mongla in Khulna division, while today's minimum temperature was recorded at 20.0 degrees Celsius at Narayanganj  in Dhaka division.
 
The sun will set at 6:40 pm today and rise at 5:12 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
