Rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, May 30, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast rain in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours beginning from 9 am.

According to a Met Office bulletin issued this morning, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Chattogram division.

Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, the bulletin added.

The highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 36.6 degrees Celsius in Koyra of Khulna division, while the minimum temperature recorded today was 21.5 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. 

The sun sets at 6:41 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in Dhaka.
