DHAKA, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - The Silicon River and BRAINGAIN USA Roadshow 2026 has commenced in Austin, Texas, with strong participation from global semiconductor industry leaders and Bangladeshi-origin professionals.
The event marked a significant step in Bangladesh's efforts to establish itself as a globally connected deep-technology and semiconductor hub.
A Bangladeshi delegation led by Bangladesh Semiconductor Industry Association (BSIA) President M A Jabbar held meetings on June 5 with senior executives of major semiconductor companies, including AMD, NXP Semiconductors and Tokyo Electron, said a press release today.
The discussions focused on Bangladesh's long-term semiconductor development strategy, talent development programmes, innovation ecosystem and prospects for future collaboration.
Professor Muhammad Mustafa Hussain of Purdue University, who serves as Chief Architect of the Silicon River Bangladesh Initiative, presented Bangladesh's progress and future aspirations in the semiconductor sector.
He highlighted the country's potential to contribute to the global semiconductor industry through a skilled workforce, innovation-driven solutions, artificial intelligence-based semiconductor applications, digital twin technologies, advanced packaging capabilities and stronger industry-academia collaboration.
Representatives of Bangladeshi firms Dynamic Solution Innovators (DSi), iTest Bangladesh Limited, Neural Semiconductor Limited and SILICONOVA Limited also showcased their technological capabilities and business expertise during the meetings.
According to organisers, representatives of the host companies appreciated Bangladesh's technology-focused vision and expressed interest in exploring greater engagement, technical cooperation, exchange visits and participation in the country's emerging semiconductor ecosystem.
On June 6, the Austin BRAINGAIN Reception brought together around 75 Bangladeshi-origin semiconductor professionals with a combined industry experience of more than 1,500 years.
Participants were briefed on the Silicon River vision and Bangladesh's ongoing efforts to build a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem through talent development, research, entrepreneurship and international partnerships.
Many attendees described the initiative as the first coordinated and technically grounded roadmap aimed at positioning Bangladesh as a future deep-technology hub.
The reception, initially scheduled for two hours, continued for nearly three hours as participants engaged in extensive discussions on semiconductor strategy, workforce development, advanced packaging, startup opportunities and diaspora involvement.
Organisers said the event demonstrated the growing willingness of Bangladeshi-origin professionals abroad to contribute their expertise, professional networks and leadership to support Bangladesh's technological advancement.
The Austin programme received support from several semiconductor industry professionals, including Dr Sayeed Badrudduza of NXP, Samiul Khan of AMD and Joel Barnett of Tokyo Electron.
The Silicon River and BRAINGAIN USA Roadshow 2026 will continue in several other US cities to further strengthen cooperation between Bangladesh, the global semiconductor industry and the Bangladeshi diaspora, organisers added.
