NETRAKONA, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long special workshop was held here today with a view to increasing agricultural productivity and formulating a comprehensive action plan for expanding the cultivation and production of Ropa Aman rice in the district.

The workshop, organised under the project "Increasing Crop Intensity in Greater Mymensingh Region (1st Revised)" at the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Khamarbari, was attended by Additional Director (Current Charge) of DAE, Mymensingh Region.

Agriculturist Salma Akhter attended as the chief guest and Project Director Agriculturist Mostafa Kamal as the special guest.

Presided over by Deputy Director of Netrakona DAE Agriculturist Md Amirul Islam, the workshop brought together agriculture officials, researchers, representatives of relevant government agencies, journalists and farmers.

Speakers stressed expanding Ropa Aman cultivation and boosting production through the use of modern agricultural technologies. Participants also offered recommendations for effective implementation of the action plan during the upcoming Aman season.
