Woman killed in Mollahat road accident

BAGERHAT, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - A woman was killed on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Mollahat upazila of the district on Sunday. 

The deceased was identified as Amena Begum, 55, wife of late Dawood Molla of Mollarakul village in the upazila.

According to local sources, the accident occurred in front of Rahima Filling Station in the Deh Boalia area of the upazila around 7:15 pm when a speeding Baleshwar Paribahan bus collided head-on with an Easy Bike, leaving the easy bike passenger, Amena Begum, seriously injured.

Local people rescued her and took her for treatment, but she died on the spot.

Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time after the accident, but the situation later normalized. 

In this regard, Mollahat Highway Police visited the scene and OC Md. Asaduzzaman Hawlader told BSS that further legal action is in process.
