
DHAKA, June 8, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 41,232 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Sunday following the completion of this year's Hajj, which was held on May 26.
"A total of 97 return flights were operated by three designated carriers -- 38 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 40 by Saudia Airlines and 19 by Flynas Airlines," an official said.
According to the Hajj Office, 3,328 Hajis have returned under government management so far, while 37,904 returned through private travel agencies on 97 flights.
Besides, 48 Bangladeshi pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia during the Hajj, including 32 men and 16 women. Of them, 35 died in Makkah, 12 in Madinah and one in Jeddah.
No deaths have been reported in Mina or Muzdalifah.
According to the Hajj bulletin, a total of 401 Hajis received treatment at various hospitals in Saudi Arabia, while 13 Hajis were hospitalised. Saudi Arabian medical centres provided treatment to 58,990 pilgrims, while the IT help desk provided services to 26,790 Hajis in Makkah and Madinah.
This year's Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until July 1.
