DHAKA, June 11, 2026 (BSS) - Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal today said people expect that not a single penny of state funds will be misused.

He made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists at his office today regarding the proposed national budget for FY 2026-27.

"State revenue is not generated automatically. It is the people's money, earned through their sweat, labour and hardship. Every single taka must be used properly and spent for the country and the welfare of its people," he said.

The Attorney General said, "We do not want the country's money to be misused as it was in the past. People expect that not a single penny of state funds will be squandered. We want to ensure this from our respective positions."

He added that his office returned Tk 1.9 million from its allocation in the previous fiscal year to the government, although the money could have been spent unnecessarily in the name of expenditure.
