CHT affairs junior minister appreciates PM’s “Family Card” programme

CHATTOGRAM, June 17, 2025 (BSS) – State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today expressed his deep appreciation for Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for introducing thre Family Card programme calling the initiative reflection of his commitment to address poorer people’s vulnerability.

 “The family card initiative exemplifies his commitment to public welfare by ensuring economic security for the common populace at grassroots,” he said as the premier virtually launched the family card distribution programme across 19 upazilas at different parts of the country.

 Gumanmarddan Union of Hathazari Upazila on the outskirts of this south-eastern port city is one of the areas where the Family Card system was introduced today as the prime minister launched the programme using the virtual platform from Moulvibazar district headquarters.

During the event Helal conveyed his heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to the premier on behalf of the people there and handed over the cards to 124 family members of Ward No 3 of Gumanmarddan at a public gathering.

The junior minister simultaneously extended his warm greetings and congratulations to Tarique Rahman on behalf of the people of Hathazari and Chattogram. 

"On this historic and momentous occasion, I express my profound gratitude and respect to the great declarer of independent Bangladesh, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, whose ideals and people-centered philosophy continues to inspire us," he said.

Helal also expressed his tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia saying he leadership and sacrifices propelled the fight for the rights of the citizens of this nation.
 
Chattogram’s deputy commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah chaired the function joined as well by divisional commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ziauddin and Chattogram University Pro-VC Dr. Mohammad Al-Amin, among others.
