Fruit, timber tree plantation directed at all technical educational institutions

DHAKA, June 25, 2026 (BSS)- All technical educational institutions across the country have been instructed to plant fruit-bearing and timber trees under 
the government's "25 Crore Trees in Five Years" programme aimed at tackling climate change risks and promoting greening initiatives.

The institutions have also been asked to submit comprehensive information on all trees planted since the current government assumed office by June 30.

The directive was issued in a notice published on the website of the Technical Education Board today. 

According to the notice, institutions must send detailed information on all trees planted from the date the current government assumed office (from 
February 17 to May 24) to the board by June 30 through email at [email protected], following a prescribed format.
