Six more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, June 27, 2026 (BSS) - Six more people died of suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, while 789 new measles infections were reported during the same period.

The information was disclosed in a press release issued today by the Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the past 24 hours stood at 744, while the total number of suspected measles cases reported from March 15 to June 27 reached 98,266.

It said 45 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 11,594 during the period from March 15 to June 27.

A total of 81,955 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals from March 15 to June 27.

During the same period, 78,287 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

The release said 615 children died of suspected measles between March 15 and June 27.

No death from confirmed measles was reported in the past 24 hours. 

From March 15 to date, a total of 93 deaths from confirmed measles have been recorded.
