
LALMONIRHAT, July 3, 2026 (BSS) - Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu today said the government has allocated the highest-ever budget to the health sector in the current fiscal year to ensure healthcare services reach people's doorsteps.
He made the remarks as the chief guest while inaugurating the newly established Kidney Dialysis Centre at Lalmonirhat Diabetic Hospital in the Sonali Park area of Lalmonirhat town this morning.
He also serves as Chairman of the Trustee Board of Lalmonirhat Diabetic Hospital.
The minister said ensuring healthcare services at people's doorsteps is one of the government's key priorities and that the highest allocation to the health sector has been made to achieve this goal.
He said the government is working to further improve the quality of services at public hospitals.
At the same time, he said, various forms of support are being extended to private healthcare providers so that people can access better medical treatment more easily.
The programme, organised by the Sonar Bangla Foundation, was presided over by the Foundation's Country Director.
Member Secretary of the Lalmonirhat Diabetic Association retired Brigadier General Niamul Islam Fatemi, Deputy Commissioner Md. Rashedul Haque Pradhan, District Council Administrator AKM Mominul Haque, Superintendent of Police Md. Asaduzzaman, Civil Surgeon Dr. Abdul Hakim and Dr. ABM Mobashwer Alam also spoke at the function, among others.
Government officials, physicians, members of the Diabetic Association and local distinguished persons were present at the programme.
