Moon Sighting Committee meeting tomorrow to fix date of Safar month

DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow to determine the beginning of the holy month of Safar, 1448 Hijri.

The meeting will be held at 7 pm at the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram meeting room. 

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad) will preside over the meeting, according to a handout.

The Islamic Foundation has requested that any sighting of the Safar moon anywhere in Bangladesh be reported to the following telephone numbers or to the Deputy Commissioner or Upazila Nirbahi Officer of the concerned district.
