Yasser included in Cyber Security Act amendment committee

DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - The government has included State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Choudhury in the high-level cabinet committee formed to conduct a detailed review and finalize the draft of Cyber Security (Amendment) Act, 2026.

He was included in the committee though a gazette notification issued on July 8, raising the number of members to six.
 
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam is the convener of the six-member committee. 

Other members of the cabinet committee are Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon, and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman.

According to the committee's terms of reference, it may co-opt any suitable person as a member whenever necessary to facilitate its work. Meetings will be held as required, and the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology will provide secretarial support to the committee.
