DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has fulfilled the wish of Bangladesh's gold medal-winning students at the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in AI by arranging their visit to the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) to watch the parliamentary proceedings.

The students witnessed the proceedings of the House from the VVIP gallery today, said PM’s deputy press secretary Shahadat Hossain Shadhin.

The special arrangement was made following the Prime Minister's directive after the students expressed their interest in witnessing a parliament session during a courtesy call on him on Sunday.

In addition to observing the parliamentary proceedings, the delegation also visited the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

The delegation included Bangladesh AI Olympiad coach Dr Mohammad Azam Khan, academic coordinator and mentor Tasnim Mahfuz Nafis, gold medalist Tridib Roy Arjo, and team members Naira Nawar Ahmed, Anonyo Zarif Akand, Naofil Rahman, Mubtasim Chowdhury Piyom and Murtaza Abdullah. Family members of the students also accompanied them during the visit.

During Sunday's meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated the students on winning gold medals at the Asia-Pacific Olympiad in AI and bringing international recognition to Bangladesh.

He appreciated their outstanding achievement and inquired about their innovative projects, academic pursuits, research activities and future aspirations, encouraging them to continue contributing to innovation and technological advancement.
