Ministry Continues relief assistance in seven flood-hit districts

DHAKA, July 15, 2026 (BSS) - The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has allocated and distributed cash assistance and relief materials to seven 
flood-affected districts hit by heavy rainfall, flash floods from upstream, and landslides.

The flood-affected districts are Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Bandarban, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Moulvibazar and Habiganj. 

A total of 57 upazilas, 334 unions and nine municipalities have been inundated. 

The floods have claimed 57 lives and left 40 people injured.

To provide shelter to the affected people, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has opened 111 shelter centres temporarily housing 
4,079 people.

At the same time, from July 7 until today, the ministry has released humanitarian assistance amounting to Taka 4.60 crore in cash and 8,950 tonnes 
of rice. 

Of this, Taka 1.75 lakh and 3,250 tonnes of rice have been distributed to the seven flood-affected districts. The remaining 57 districts have received Taka 
2.85 crore as financial assistance and 5,700 tonnes of rice.
