Meritorious students, top institutions honored in Netrokona

NETROKONA, Sept 7, 2026 (BSS) - Eleven meritorious students who secured GPA-5 in the SSC, Dakhil and SSC (Vocational) examinations 2026 despite poverty, landlessness and physical disabilities were honored along with top-performing educational institutions here on Sunday.

The honors were conferred at a ceremony titled 'Education Success Honor & Indomitable Meritorious Student Honor', organized by the Netrokona District Administration at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room.

Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Khondoker Moshfiqur Rahman attended the programe as the chief guest.

"Education is the bedrock of a nation," Khondoker Moshfiqur said, stressing coordinated efforts by teachers, students, officials, staff and parents to improve the education system.

The DC said Netrokona secured first place in the Mymensingh division this year, with no educational institution recording a zero percent pass rate.

The eleven honored students are -- Salman Farsi of Dutta High School in Netrokona Sadar; Trisha Rani Sutradhar of Chollish Kahaniya Hafizuddin High School in Barhatta; Mst. Bushra Jahan Meem of Madan Shahid Smaronika Pilot Girls' High School; Md. Tajin Akhtar of Mohanganj Pilot Government High School; Raihana of Abdul Jabbar Rabeya Khatun Girls' School and College in Khaliajuri; Pabarn Rani Karmakar of Gopalashram Bhairab Chandra High School in Atpara; Romana Akhtar Shashi of Kendua Joyhari Spry Government High School; Dibya Das and Pritam Chakraborty of schools in Kalmakanda; Arpana Rani Shill of Bakaljora Nayapara High School in Durgapur; and Humair Tabassum of South Kajla Alhajj Maulvi Abdul Wahed Khan Dakhil Madrasah in Purbadhala.

Among the institutions, Shahid Smriti Vidyapith in Kendua topped the SSC category with a 100 percent pass rate. Netrokona Government Girls' High School and Sajiura High School in Kendua secured second and third positions respectively.

In the Dakhil examinations, Ramnathpur D.S. Dakhil Madrasah in Kalmakanda stood first with an 85.29 percent pass rate, while Iqra Technical and B.M. College in Purbadhala topped the SSC (Vocational) category with a 100 percent pass rate.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) , District Education Officer ,Senior district administration and education officials, heads of educational institutions, teachers, parents and award-winning students attended the programme.
