Thakurgaon district scouts leaders pay courtesy call on President

DHAKA, Sep 07, 2026 (BSS)- Leaders of Thakurgaon district Rover Scouts today paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at President’s residence in Thakurgaon.

During the meeting, the President inaugurated one lakh saplings plantation programme of the scouts in the district as part of a nationwide programme for planting 25 crore trees, according to a Bangabhaban press release.

District Scouts trainer Anjumanara Baby and General Secretary Lutfor Rahman Mithu led the elegation.

Speaking on the occasion the President said one of the major goals of the scouts’ movement should be to foster discipline, orderliness, morality, ethics and patriotism among young people.

The President also said the role of scouts in the country’s development and social service is extremely important.

He inquired about the construction of a dedicated scouts building in Thakurgaon and expressed hope that the scouts would be more actively involved in public welfare and service-oriented activities across the country.
