DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) – The health condition of six out of the 42 injured in the Milestone jet crash is critical, according to Director of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) Prof Dr Nasir Uddin.

"Forty-two injured are now undergoing treatment at the institute. Six of them are in critical condition," he said at a briefing at the institute tonight.

Three critically injured persons are improving, while 13 are in the intermediate category, he said, adding that two more people have died in the last 24 hours.

Thirteen patients have so far been shifted to cabins over the past two days, and they are expected to return home within two days, he said.

Thirteen people have died while undergoing treatment at the institute, he added.

He said there is no need for blood or money as everything is being provided by the interim government.

Children are being treated through a multi-disciplinary committee that meets twice a day, he stated, mentioning that meetings are also being held with Singaporean expert physicians, who are providing necessary advice for treating the burn victims.

Medical teams from India and China are also cooperating, he said.

The Indian medical team has visited the institute, but the five-member Chinese delegation of physicians is yet to come to the hospital.
However, he said, they have communicated through video call.

Professor Dr Nasir Uddin said that the health adviser has visited the hospital and inquired about the treatment of the injured.
