DHAKA, Feb 27, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) today arrested two main accused in the police assault case from the capital’s Kawran Bazar area.  

The arrestees have been identified as Md Shahin Alam, 27, and Deen Islam Kalu, 23. 

A team of RAB-2 arrested the duo from Kawran Bazar area this afternoon as they were the masterminds of assaulting police officers, senior assistant superintendent of police of RAB-2 Khan Asif Topu told BSS. 
 
Earlier on February 25, a patrol team of Tejgaon police station caught Shahin red handed at Kawran Bazar area while selling drugs, he said, adding that as they screamed for help, their accomplices rushed to the spot and snatched away the criminals after assaulting   police. 

A case was lodged with Tejgaon police station in this regard.

Of the arrestees, Shahin is a listed kingpin of the drug peddling, extortionist and mugger of Kawran Bazar area. 

He is also leading a criminal gang in the area.
