NAOGAON, Feb 28, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council member and valiant freedom fighter Abdus Salam today said that if general election is held in a free, fair and neutral manner, BNP will come to state power.

"To make the election unquestionable, the government led by Dr Yunus should hold the polls in a neutral manner as people have been demanding neutral elections for a long. If people can exercise their franchise in a neutral way, BNP will come to power," he said.

He was addressing the biannual conference of Sadar Upazila and Municipal BNP at Naojowan ground in Naogaon town in the district as the chief guest.

With Naogaon District BNP Joint Convener Shahidul Islam in the chair, the event was addressed, among others, by BNP Central Committee Assistant-Cooperative Affairs Secretary and former District BNP President Nazmul Haque Soni and former District BNP General Secretary Zahidul Islam Dhalu.

Later in the evening, Dewan Mostaq Ahmed was elected as the president of Naogaon Sadar Upazila BNP in the conference while A S M Al Kafi Tuhin became the general secretary.

Abdus Salam further said that BNP is the party of the people and they are the strength of the party.

"Awami League was also a very big party. Even then, seeing the popularity of BNP, they were afraid of holding a neutral voting. They remained in power by force," he added.
