Female thief held with four stolen phones in capital

DHAKA, March 01, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested a female member of professional theft gang along with four stolen mobile phones in the capital's Darus Salam area.

A media release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today said a team of Mirpur Model Police Station arrested Sheuli Akter, 30, in a raid in the Tunarghat area of Darussalam Police Station on Friday 05:15pm.

Police said five mobile phones of different brands were stolen from a shop on Road No. 2, Mirpur-10 on February 26. Following the incident, an employee of the shop, Md Kabir Hossain filed a case with Mirpur Model Police Station. 

Later, police with the help of technology and CCTV footage identified Sheuli.

At the initial interrogation, she confessed that she is an active member of theft ring and engaged in stealing valuables from different shops.

Legal process is underway against her.
