Ex-MP Aziz put on remand in explosive case

SIRAJGANJ, March 5, 2025 (BSS) - Former lawmaker of the Sirajganj-3 constituency, Abdul Aziz, was placed on one-day remand today in a case filed under the Explosive Substance Act.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Obaidul Haque Rumi passed the order after police produced Abdul Aziz before the court seeking a five-day remand.

According to the case statement, Abdul Aziz, along with other leaders and activists of the Awami League, attacked a motorcade of BNP candidate Abdul Mannan Talukder during an election campaign in 2018.

On February 3, a team of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2) arrested Dr. Aziz from the Kalabagan area in the capital and sent him to Tarash police station.
