Arrest warrant issued against Qcoom chairman, MD

DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today issued arrest warrant against e-commerce platform Qcoom's chairman Md Ayub Ali and its managing director (MD) Md Ripon Miah in a fraud case.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam passed the order as the accused failed to appear before the court for today's hearing, complainant's counsel Sakibul Islam told BSS.

Complainant Mehedi Hasan Foysal, owner of 3S Corporation BD, made an order of Taka 82.44 lakh from Qcoom's "Big Billion Returns" campaign on June 27, 2021. He was supposed to get the products under his order within 21 to 25 working days, but the online shopping platform failed to do this.

Foysal on August 13, 2024, filed the case against Qcoom's chairman and its MD and the court asked Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the matter.

PBI in its investigation found the allegations brought against the duo true and filed report in this regard. The court on January 28 accepted the PBI report and had summoned the accused to appear before it today.
