DHAKA, March 6, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a professional drug peddler with 60 kilograms of Ganja and a private car in the capital’s Jatrabari area last night. 

A team of DB, Uttara Division, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid and arrested Md. Masum, 30, Dania area of Kazla in Jatrabari on Wednesday at around  11:35pm, said a media release of DMP today.

Police said the estimated value of the seized ganja is TK 12 lakh.    

Based on secret information, the DB team took position in Dania area of ????Kajla as they came to know that a drug peddler was carrying the ganja by a private car which was heading toward Jatrabari. 

During the initial interrogation, Masum confessed that he is an active member of a professional drug peddling gang and was transporting the ganja for sale. 

A case was filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act in Jatrabari police station.
