Two die from burn injuries in Narayanganj gas leakage fire

NARAYANGANJ, March 8, 2025 (BSS) - Two people, including a child succumbed to burn
injuries while undergoing treatment at the HDU unit of National Institute of Burn and Plastic
Surgery in the capital this afternoon.

The deceased were - rickshaw puller Md Hannan, 40, and one and a half year-old Sumaiya, said
resident surgeon of the institute Dr Shaon Bin Rahman.

Earlier on March 3, eight people including women and children sustained burn injuries in a gas
explosion caused by a leakage at Dhakeshwari-2 in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj Sadar upazila.

The incident occurred when a gas line leakage led to a sudden explosion, engulfing the victims in
flames.

They were immediately rushed to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
