BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan’s wife passes away

DHAKA, Mar 18, 2025 (BSS) - Alifa Akter Kanta Islam, wife of BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan passed away today at a private hospital in the capital.

She was 70.

“She breathed her last around 5:00 PM today at the United Hospital here after suffering from prolonged illness,” BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan told BSS.

She is survived by her husband, son, two daughters, granddaughters and a host of well wishers to mourn her death.     
 
Her Namaj-e-Janaza will be held tomorrow after the Zohr prayers at the Banani DOHS Mosque. And later, she will be laid to eternal rest beside her parents-in-law at Mirpur.

Meanwhile, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep condolences. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to the hospital immediately after hearing the news.
