Tk 2.3 cr allocated to serve improved diet to on-duty security forces on Eid day

DHAKA, March 27, 2025 (BSS) - The government has allocated Tk 2.3 crore for serving improved food to the on-duty members of police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar and VDP and Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

A notification was issued today in this connection.

"The government allocated the amount to meet the expenses of serving improved food to members of the police, BGB, Ansar and VDP and Bangladesh Coast Guard who are responsible for patrolling, checking posts and joint operations to control law and order in various important places of the country including Dhaka," the notification said.

Of the total allocation, Bangladesh Police will get Tk 1 crore, BGB Tk 40 lakh, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Tk 60 lakh and Bangladesh Coast Guard Tk 3 lakh, it said.

No money can be spent in excess of the allocated amount and all financial. regulations must be strictly followed, it cautioned.

Proper accounts must be maintained and submitted to the Public Safety Department for audit purpose, it said.

The Public Safety Department will not shoulder the audit objection.

The unspent money (if any) should be sent by June 30 next.
