Akhtar Hossain meets family of martyr Lablu Mia in Kawnia

RANGPUR, April 2, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) member-secretary Akhtar Hossain has visited the house of small businessman Lablu Mia, who was killed in the anti-discrimination student movement and inquired about the family.
 
On Tuesday evening, the day after Eid, he went to the Mayabazar area of Haragach Municipality in Kawnia upazila of Rangpur to inquire about the family of martyr Lablu Mia.
 
Lablu Mia's wife Nur Nahar, mother Lailey Begum, daughters Laizu Khatun, Liza Khatun and son Nur Habib and local people were present at the time.
 
Lablu Mia was shot dead by police while participating in a massive victory procession during the student-public uprising after the fall of fascist Sheikh Hasina’s 16-year old tyrannical regime in Dhaka's Uttara Azimpur area on August 5 afternoon.
 
On Tuesday evening, Akhtar Hossain spent some time with Lablu Mia's family and inquired about various issues.
 
He wanted to know about the education of Shaheed Lablu Mia’s two sons and a daughter. At that time, Shaheed Lablu's wife Nur Nahar asked for assistance for the education of her children, a job and a government-built house.
 
Akhtar Hossain listened to them and assured them of taking necessary measures and gave Eid gifts to the family members.
 
At that time, Rangpur district joint convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Rubayet Kabir, NCP district organizers Rezwan Ahmed, MI Sumon Ahmed and Toufiq Ahmed and NCP Kawnia Upazila organizer Nazmul Haque were present.
 
Later, Akhtar Hossain with the leaders and activists on motorcycles held mass mobilization in Haragach Municipality, Dewan Bazar, Bakul Tala, Menaj Bazar, Mayabazar, Haq Bazar, Sarai Bazar, Suman Bazar, Bijler Ghunti, Mirbag Bazar areas.
