Farmer electrocuted in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer died from electrocution in Shyamkur Paschimpara area under Maheshpur upazila of the district on Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Jalal Uddin, 48, son of Sohrab Uddin of the same village.

Family members said Jalal Uddin went to work in his dragon fruit garden in the morning and did not return home. Later around 8 pm, relatives found his body lying in the garden.

They suspect he was electrocuted after coming in contact with an electric wire on the ground while working.

Officer-in-Charge of Maheshpur Police Station Nazrul Islam said no complaint or suspicion has been raised by the family. The body has been handed over to the family members.
