ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Oct 9, 2025 (BSS) - Islamic University Bangladesh has commenced its teacher recruitment process through written test and viva voce for the post of lecturer in the department of Folklore Studies.

The test was held at the Ibn Sina academic building this morning.

According to university sources, out of 47 applicants for the posts, 29 candidates took part in the one-hour written test that started at 10:00 am.

The test included subject-based questions, and it was conducted under the supervision of the designated members of the recruitment board.

The results of the written test were announced at 3:00 pm and the interviews to the qualified aspirants started at 4:30pm at the Vice-Chancellor’s residence.

A candidate commented, “The questions were quite tough. Previously, IU’s recruitment exams used to include 30 marks for subjective questions and 20 marks for Bangladesh Studies. But this time, it was entirely 50 marks of subject-based questions. In other universities, however, the previous format is still followed.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah said, “According to our current policy, recruitment will be based on written exams, viva voce, and academic performance. We will select candidates purely on merit and competence; there will be no political considerations in the recruitment process.”
