BGB seizes smuggled goods worth Tk 1.28 cr in Sylhet

SYLHET, April 12, 2025 (BSS) – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge smuggled goods worth about Taka 1.28 crore from different areas of the district in the early hours of today.

On a tip-off, different teams of BGB raided in different border areas of Banglabazar, Lobia, Noakot, Kalairag, Bichanakandi, Panthomai, Protappur, Uthma, Sripur and Sangram and recovered the illegal goods in an abandoned condition.

During the raids, they seized sunglasses, sugar, cows, chocolate, hair oil, ibol candy, juice, soap, liquor, fish and trucks from the areas.

Sylhet Battalion (48 BGB) Captain Lieutenant Colonel Nazmul Haque confirmed the matter.
