BNP joins March for Gaza program

DHAKA, April 12, 2025 (BSS)-  Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today participated in the 'March for Gaza' program at Suhrawardy Udyan here to protest against the ongoing "genocide and ethnic cleansing" in Gaza, Palestine.

A delegation led by the party's Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed participated in the program.

The BNP delegation included, among others, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Abdul Monayem Munna, General Secretary Nurul Islam Nayan and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

The delegation, led by Salahuddin Ahmed, started the program in front of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayer and met at Suhrawardy Udyan.

The 'March for Gaza' program was called by ‘Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh'. 

In addition, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Jatiya Nagorik Party or NCP, leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam, religious leaders, Islamic scholars and people from various classes and professions expressed solidarity with this program.

Earlier, the 'March for Gaza' program started in the capital Dhaka at 3:00 pm on Saturday. Along with the general public, renowned scholars and political leaders of the country participated in it. 

A large number of people participated in it with various posters, banners, placards and flags of Bangladesh and Palestine.

Religious speakers and leaders of various parties who expressed solidarity with the program were seen attending the stage set up at Suhrawardy Udyan.

A declaration was read out in the afternoon with five-point demands. It demands included initiating legal proceedings against Israel at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for genocide, an end to the Israeli aggression in Gaza, and a call for the Muslim world to sever ties with Israel.
