Online GD service to be launched in SMP, Chandpur police stations

DHAKA, April 13, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Police will soon introduce online General Diary (GD) service in all police stations of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) and Chandpur District Police.

As part of simplification of police services in light of the instructions of the Chief Adviser, the facility of filing all sorts of GDs from home without attending the police station will be introduced, said a press release.

The release said that currently only GDs related to loss and receipt can be filed online. From now on, it will be possible to file all GDs online.

In the initial stage, the online GD service will be launched on a pilot basis from next Tuesday (April 15).

It said that the facility of filing all GDs online will be introduced in all police stations across the country in phases.

To get the online GD service, one has to first download the online-GD app from the Google Play Store.
