DHAKA, April 14, 2025 (BSS) - All types of General Diary (GD) filings will be available online starting tomorrow in Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) and Chandpur district, eliminating the need to visit a police station in person.

This initiative follows directives from the Chief Adviser as part of the government's broader efforts to streamline and simplify police services, said a Police Headquarters statement.

Until now, digital submission of GDs was limited to cases involving loss and receipt. From now on, citizens will be able to file any type of GD online from the comfort of their homes.

The expanded online GD service will initially be launched as a pilot program in all police stations under the SMP and throughout the Chandpur District, starting Tuesday.

According to the statement, the service will be rolled out to police stations nationwide in phases.

To use the online GD service, users must download the "Online GD" app from the Google Play Store. Following completing a one-time registration, the service will be available for use at any time.

For help with registration or filing a GD, citizens can call the 24/7 hotline at 01320001428.

The Bangladesh Police is dedicated to delivering faster, more accessible and people-centered services.
