AL leader Murad arrested from Uttara

DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of police today arrested Md Shahe Alam Murad, former general secretary of Dhaka south city unit of Awami League (AL), from Uttara in the capital.

DB deputy commissioner (media and public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed his arrest.

Murad, currently an executive member of the AL chapter, was accused in multiple cases related to 2024 July uprising, filed with different police stations under the DMP.
