Travel embargo imposed on ex-RAJUK chairman Siddiqur, wife

DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) –A court here today imposed travel ban on former Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) chairman Maj Gen (retd) Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker, his wife Gazi Rebeka Rowsun and four others over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, allowing separate pleas from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Director Abul Hasnat of the ACC filed the plea to impose a travel ban on Md Siddiqur Rahman Sarker, accused of wrongdoing in allocating plots in RAJUK Purbachal New Town project, and his wife.

Meanwhile, the ACC also imposed travel ban on former chairman of Gopalganj Kotalipara upazila Bimal Krishna Biswas, his wife Shikha Sarkar, Sudhir Kumar Sarkar and Sirajganj Sadar upazila chairman Mohammad Riaj Uddin.
