ACC files case against ex-land minister Saifuzzaman, his wife, 19 others

DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed a corruption case against 23 individuals including former land minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and his wife Rukmila Zaman on charges of taking loan with forged documents.

Deputy Director  of the ACC, an  anti-graft watchdog,  Md Mahfuz Iqbal filed the case   under sections 409, 420, and 109 of the penal code and sections 4(2) and 4 (3) of the Corruption Prevention Act and section 5 (2) of the Prevention and  Corruption Act,1947.

Apart from them, United Commercial Bank UCB former director Shah Alam, Bazal Ahmed Babul, Roksana Zaman Chowdhury and Shawkat Zamil were also accused.   
 ACC Director General Akhter Hossain told this in a news briefing.
