DHAKA, April 17, 2025 (BSS) –A group of Dhaka university (DU) students has formed a 'shadow investigation committee' to identify those who attacked students on DU campus during the July movement.

The students announced a 34-member shadow investigation committee at a press conference at the Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) this afternoon.

At the press conference, DU student Sardar Nadim Mahmud Shuvo said: "Thousands of Chhatra League leaders and activists attacked ordinary students. However, we only found the names of 128 people in the university's investigation committee. We have taken such an initiative for a proper investigation."

In a written statement at the press conference, DU law student Rezwan Ahmed Rifat said, "We have formed a shadow investigation committee comprising students who were victims of attacks and eyewitnesses from July 15 to August 5.

The main task of this committee will be to collect evidence from those directly and indirectly involved in the attacks on students in July and August and publish a 'Swetha Patra' within next one month, he said.
