RANGPUR, April 25, 2025 (BSS) - Central leaders of the Agriculturists
Association of Bangladesh (AAB) visited the grave of Shaheed Abu Sayeed in
village Babanpur under Pirganj upazila of the district today.
 
During their visit, leaders of AAB, a professional body of agriculturalists
affiliated with the BNP, also exchanged views with family members of Abu
Sayeed, a student of the English Department of Begum Rokeya University, a
pioneer hero of the July Revolution.
 
Principal Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute at
Gazipur and AAB's former Central Executive Committee member agriculturist Dr
Mohammad Monirul Islam, former Chief Scientific Officer of Bangladesh Spices
Research Center at Bogura and adviser of Agriculturalists' Forum of
Bangladesh agriculturist Dr Md Hamim Reza, eminent soil scientist and social
worker, founding president of "Durniti Mukta Nagorik, Bangladesh
agriculturist Dr Mohammad Badruzzaman, Senior Scientific Officer of the On-
field Research Division of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute at
Rangpur agriculturist Dr. Mohammad Khairul Islam, among others, were present.
 
The visiting AAB leaders offered Ziayarat at Abu Sayeed's grave, enquired
about the well-being of his family members and extended financial assistance
to them.
 
Abu Sayeed's father Md Mokbul Hossain, his elder brothers Md Ramjan Ali, and
Abu Hossain, his cousin Ruhul Amin, also a student of the English Department
of Begum Rokeya University, other relatives and local villagers were present
 
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mohammad Monirul Islam said, Shaheed Abu Sayeed,
the hero of the July Revolution, gave his life for reestablishing democracy
and ensuring human rights of the country's people.
 
"Abu Sayeed gave his blood to free the country from fascism. Hundreds of
young people lost their lives in that mass uprising and thousands of others
were injured and disabled to oust the fascist regime of mass killer Sheikh
Hasina," he said.
 
"Therefore, touching the soil of Shaheed Abu Sayeed's grave, we swear by the
180 million people that no more fascist dictatorship will be allowed to be
born in the country," he said.
 
Later, the AAB leaders provided cash assistance to Md Mokbul Hossain, father
of martyr Abu Sayeed before leaving the village.
