DHAKA, May 9, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has called upon all pro-Bangladesh forces to get united in a collective effort to ban Awami League.

In a Facebook post, Nahid Islam urged nationwide solidarity beyond political affiliation for what he described a battle for the sake of the national sovereignty.

Nahid said, “The sit-in programme at Shahbagh will continue. Regardless of party affiliation, we expect that all forces of July mass uprising will stand united on the issue of banning Awami League and safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.”

“Blockade programme has already been begun in various parts of Dhaka. If a decision is not made soon, the whole country will march again in Dhaka,” he added.

Nahid said, “Let all pro-Bangladesh forces unite to ban the fascist terrorist Mujibist organization Awami League, which is against the country’s sovereignty, against independence, against July, against democracy, against Islam, against women, and against humanity.”
