DHAKA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a statement today requested all not to block roads in the name of protests that create a nagging traffic snarl in the capital city and cause massive suffering to the public.

The Traffic Division of DMP is making a vital effort to reduce traffic congestion; however, incidents of road blockades for any reason are causing widespread public suffering.

In the greater interest of the city dwellers and for the sake of proper traffic management, the DMP has made a special request to all concerned to refrain from unnecessarily blocking roads.

Recently, severe traffic congestion has been created in the capital due to road blockades in the name of various demands and protest programs, the statement said.

Due to this, school-college, university students and office-going passengers are facing various inconveniences, it continued.

Serious disruption is being created in the transportation of foreign-going passengers and sick patients for urgent needs, it added.
