NETRAKONA, May 12, 2025 (BSS) - The district administration today distributed donation cheques to 55 people who were injured during the July-August uprising in 2024.

Deputy Commissioner Banani Biswas handed over cheques of Taka 100,000 each to the recipients at a function held at the conference room of DC office this afternoon.

"We have a total of 137 cheques for Category C victims of the July-August uprising in the district. We distributed 66 cheques last Thursday, and today we distributed 55 more. The remaining 16 cheques will be provided to those who were absent today," said Deputy Commissioner Banani Biswas.

Among others, Additional District Magistrate Sukhmoy Sarkar, Press Club Secretary Mahbubul Kibria Chowdhury Helim, journalist Alpana Begum, Jatiya Nagorik Party central organiser Pritam Sohag, and member Fahim Khan Pathan were present at the event.
