DHAKA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) has launched a media fellowship on road safety titled 'Comprehensive Road Safety Media Fellowship' for journalists.

A total of 25 journalists from different print, electronic and online media, including BSS Senior Staff Reporter Syed Altefat Hossain, have been selected for the fellowship under the 'Strengthening Road Safety Legislation on Key Behavioral Risk Factors in Bangladesh through Media Development Project' of the BNNRC.

The BNNRC, a media development and digital transformation organization, today organized an orientation session for the selected journalists at the YWCA in the city's Mohammadpur area this morning.

According to the organization, this fellowship will empower the media professionals - journalists, content creators, and digital media practitioners - to produce impactful, evidence-based stories highlighting road traffic crashes' human, social, and economic consequences.

During the fellowship, six senior journalists will guide the fellows to produce impactful reports promoting road safety in the country. A total of 75 reports would be released by the fellows during the fellowship between June and August this year.

Through the initiative, the BNNRC intends to promote safer mobility, encourage policy dialogue, and foster behavior change through compelling storytelling.

Established in 2000, the BNNRC, as one of the members of the Road Safety Coalition Bangladesh, has been working tirelessly to enhance the capacity of the media in road safety since 2022.
