DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former housing and public works minister RAM Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury and his wife Fahima Khatun over graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing an application of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The anti-graft body in its plea said from the primary investigation it seems that the former minister amassed a huge illegal wealth by getting involved in financial crimes, using his political influence.

"The accused is in jail now, but he might flee the country after coming out of jail. That is why the travel ban should be issued," the ACC plea added.
