BNS Khalid Bin Walid leaves for LIMA-2025 naval expo

CHATTOGRAM, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Navy Ship BNS Khalid Bin Walid has set its sail from the Chattogram Naval Base today to participate in the 17th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-2025), scheduled to take place in Langkawi, Malaysia on May 20-24.

On the occasion of the ship's departure, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan addressed the officers and sailors, offering guidance and encouragement as they embark on the international mission, said an ISPR Press Release.
 
He emphasized the significance of such participation in enhancing the Navy's global presence and fostering military diplomacy.

In keeping with naval tradition, the ship was ceremonially bid farewell with a musical performance by the Bangladesh Navy Band.
 
The send-off was attended by the Commander of Chattogram Naval Area, senior naval officers, and family members of the crew.

A five-day international maritime exhibition is set to host high-level delegates, observers and naval vessels from around the globe.

Representing Bangladesh, a 229-member naval contingent led by Captain M. Ejaz Masud will take part in the event aboard the ship Banouza Khalid Bin Walid.
 
The delegation includes 34 officers and is expected to significantly enhance Bangladesh's image on the international stage, the release added.
