DHAKA, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested two presumed drug traders with 102 kilograms of cannabis (ganja) from Khilkheet area in the city early today.

Acting on a tip off, "A team of DB-Gulshan division conducted a raid at Khilkheet grocery and seized the huge quantity of smuggled ganja from there and nabbed the two persons from the spot," Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS.

He said the detainees are identified as Asma, 35 and Md Kabir Miah, 60.

Rahman said estimated price of the recovered cannabis is worth of Tk. 20.40 lakh.

"Legal measures have been taken against the detainees," the DC added.
